CM Mohan Majhi returned to Odisha on Monday after concluding the two-day Odisha Investors’ Meet in Hyderabad and was accorded a grand welcome at the Bhubaneswar airport. The investment roadshow marked a major success for the state, drawing significant interest from leading industrial players across sectors.

According to official sources, the Hyderabad investors’ summit generated investment proposals worth Rs 67,000 crore, with the potential to create nearly 56,000 employment opportunities. During the event, 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed involving investments amounting to Rs 27,750 crore. In addition, investors expressed investment intent worth Rs 39,131 crore.

“We have signed around 13 MoUs for a whopping Rs 27,650 crore investment that will create around 15900 job opportunities. This apart, many other companies have shown investment intent worth Rs 39,131 crore totaling Rs 67,500 crore investment proposals,” the CM said.

The summit witnessed strong interest from industries, particularly in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, electronics, information technology, textiles, and advanced manufacturing. Officials stated that Odisha’s stable investment policies, competitive cost structure, and investor-friendly governance framework have helped the state emerge as an attractive destination for investments.

During the meet, the Chief Minister also held roundtable discussions with industry captains from sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, metals, manufacturing, and energy. The discussions focused on strengthening industrial partnerships and exploring new avenues for sustainable industrial growth in the state.

The successful Hyderabad meet is seen as a major step in Odisha’s efforts to position itself as a preferred investment hub and boost economic growth and employment generation.
