Bhubaneswar: With focus on the youths who attain 18 years in January, 2013, people in Odisha can avail a special campaign to file applications for inclusion, deletion of names and correction in entries in electoral roll between October 1 and November 3, 2012.

"The campaign dates are fixed on 7th, 14th and 21st of October (all Sundays) to file applications in different polling stations," Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha, Mona Sharma told reporters here.
Stating that the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls 2013 will commence with publication of draft rolls on October 1, Sharma said the people can verify their entries in all the 33,244 polling stations and also in official website.

Sharma also said the the electors who do not have photographs in the Photo Electoral Roll may submit their pictures to the booth level officers.

As per the draft Electoral Roll, 2013 to be published on October 1, 2012, Sharma said the total number of electors in the state is 2,87,64,854. The percentage of photos in the roll and that of EPIC coverage is 88.48 per cent and 92.37 per cent respectively, she said.

Replying a question Sharma said that the enrollment of youths was not satisfactory. While the youth population in the state as per the 2011 census is 3.9 per cent, only 1.3 per cent have got their names enrolled. The people can avail application forms at their respective polling booths for undertaking any correction, inclusion or deletion, she said.
