Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government’s flagship programmes like KALIA, Mamata, Mission Shakti, Sarathi, Vahan, farmer registration, food security and drinking water will soon be included in ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.

The Electronics and Information Technology Department has sought information of beneficiaries from 12 departments for inclusion of the top priority social welfare programmes in the second phase of the initiative.

The first phase of Mo Sarkar was rolled out on Gandhi Jayanti this year with implementation in only healthcare sector and police stations.

In the subsequent phase, feedback about the flagship schemes will be taken from beneficiaries from December 1 so that their grievances could be heard and further steps can be taken.

“CM Naveen Patnaik wants the schemes to reach every doorstep with transparency and without any hassles. From December first, Mamata scheme and Mission Shakti will be included in Mo Sarkar,” said Women and Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu.

Meanwhile, opposition parties have questioned the inclusion of the flagship schemes into Mo Sarkar. While BJP has termed it as just a stage show to fool people, Congress has said that it will be ineffective.

“There were a lot of irregularities which surfaced in these schemes so their inclusion under the Mo Sarkar is only drama,” said BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra.

Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said, “These schemes will not be effective as there is lack of proper infrastructure and the government is trying to seize the power of ministers and kill the democracy.

Sources said the Odisha government is aiming to include all the departments under ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative by March 5, 2020.
