Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced the implementation of 7th Pay Commission for the employees of all urban local bodies.

The new pay or the recommendations of the seventh pay commission, for the concerned employees, will be effective form April 1, 2016.

Besides, the State government has recently announced a hike of dearness allowance (DA) by 3% for its employees and pensioners which came into effect retrospectively from January 1, 2019. A proposal in connection with this was approved by CM Naveen on February 25.

Earlier, in April 2018, the DA for Odisha government employees was also hiked by two per cent.
