Odisha government dipped in corruption: Dharmendra Pradhan

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday lashed out at the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government for its failure on several fronts and informed that BJP will launch a mega ‘Jan Sampark Abhiyan’ across Odisha.

“We will bring out documents regarding 36 massive corruption by the ruling BJD in its 18 years of rule before the people of the State. At the same time, we will highlight 48 achievements of the BJP-led government at the Centre in its 4 years of rule,” said Pradhan on the sidelines of BJP’s two-day State Executive Meeting which concluded today.

Besides, Pradhan alleged that the Odisha government is trying to fool and mislead people by providing false data about its achievements and dared Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to prove that the data provided in an advertisement of the State Health department related to infant mortality is correct.

The CM must apologise to the people of Odisha for providing false data; I will apologise, if I am proved wrong.

– Pradhan added.

Earlier, senior leaders of BJP also criticised Odisha government for its alleged failure in solving Mahanadi issue, maintaining law and order and curbing corruption in the State during the party’s executive meet.

The party also condemned the government for the increasing cases of violence against women while the culprits are moving scot-free.

It is due to the callousness of the Naveen government that the State is currently facing the Mahandi water problem. Instead of solving the issue through mutual talks and negotiations with the neighbouring Chhattisgarh government, Odisha government is politicising the issue for mere political gains, the party leaders alleged.

People in Odisha are suffering due to rampant corruption at the panchayat and municipal level; and the government has also failed to provide basic amenities like proper drinking water facilities. Work contracts are being issued without inviting tenders at the municipality level. Besides, irregularities galore in providing land to slum dwellers and ration card distribution in the State, the BJP leaders further alleged.
