The Odisha government on Thursday declared the Hindi feature film Godaan tax-free across the State. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi after he attended the premiere screening of the film.
Describing Godaan as a family-oriented film with a strong social message, the Chief Minister said the movie reinforces the values of Sanatan Dharma and highlights moral and cultural principles relevant to contemporary society. He noted that the film promotes stronger bonding between children and parents while encouraging ethical values.
Stating that cinema has a significant influence on society, Majhi said films like Godaan play an important role in creating social awareness and fostering cultural understanding. He added that meaningful, value-based cinema can help shape positive attitudes, especially among the younger generation.
During the event, the Chief Minister also announced that the State government would soon establish a Cow Research Centre in Odisha. He said the proposed centre would focus on research, conservation, and awareness related to indigenous cattle and traditional practices.
Urging youth and families to watch the film together, Majhi called for public support for socially relevant cinema that upholds cultural ethos and ethical values. He expressed hope that Godaan would receive wide appreciation from audiences across the State.
