Kendrapara: BJP national vice president and spokesperson Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda today came down heavily on the BJD-led State government over rising crime against women and rampant corruption. Addressing a public rally at Ichhapur in the district, Panda said that the State government is in control of goons and corrupt people. Highlighting the increase in cases of violence against women and children, he said the law and order situation has deteriorated significantly.

“With your blessings, I tried hard to bring development, but obstacles were created by the ruling party about which you are all aware of. When I went to inaugurate a drinking water project in Mahanga, eggs and stones were hurled to stop me as percentage commission was not paid. There is a need for change in the State,” the BJP national vice-president said.

He also cited how lakhs of Odias are migrating outside the state due to lack of jobs and decline in industrial growth in the State.

“When industrial houses are being harassed in the State, why anyone will set up industry in Odisha,” he said. Calling for a change in Odisha, Panda said the BJP should be voted to power.

After joining BJP, Panda visited Kendrapara for the first time today. He arrived in Kendrapara to a rousing welcome by thousands of supporters, who also took out a bike rally prior to the public meeting at Ichhapur.
