Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today approved four major PPP projects while two other proposals to set up World Trade Centre and a Convention Centre got in-principle approval, official sources said.
 
An Empowered Committee headed by Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra approved projects which included Municipal Solid Waste Management proposed by Berhampur Municipal Corporation, four-laning of Sambalpur-Rourkela section of State Highway-10.
 
It also approved Energy Efficient Public Street Lighting Project in Bhubaneswar and appointing transaction advisor for a solid waste management project at Puri before 2015, said Development Commissioner I Srinivas.
 
Replying to a question, Srinivas said Rs 1,300 crore will be spent on the four-laning of Sambalpur-Rourkela section of the State Highway-10.
 
This apart, the committee also discussed on post-bid capacity building support for storage and warehousing infrastructure for rice through PPP mode, Biotech Park Project proposed by the state owned Industrial Infrastracture Development Corporation (IDCO) and Chhendipada Common Corridor Project.
 
Srinivas said the empowered committee has also given in-principle approval for construction of a Convention Center at Janata Maidan in the city and World Trade Center near Fortune Towers at Bhubaneswar.
