Bhubaneswar: After this year’s first swine flu case was reported from a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government was quick to allay fears citing that it is well prepared.

Director of Health Services, Braja Kishore Brahma said that there is no need to panic as vaccines to counter the disease are adequately available.

While all the medical colleges have been directed to open Swine Flu wards, a state-level meeting has been called to discuss the issue.

"A medical team had gone to the hospital to check the condition of the patient today morning. There is no need to worry. Still we are prepared for everything and have directed all medical colleges to open swine flu wards," Brahma said.
