A high-level coordination meeting was held in the State Capital on Monday to review preparations for President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit.

As per schedule, the President will arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 2.00 PM on November 27 and will stay overnight at Raj Bhavan. On the 28th, she is slated to attend an official programme at the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

The President is also scheduled to attend a programme at Jayadev Bhawan.

In view of the President’s movement, stringent security arrangements are being put in place. From CISF personnel inside the airport to police deployment outside the Assembly, a joint coordination mechanism will manage the security grid.

A comprehensive four-tier security cover has been put in place, with 25 platoons of police deployed to ensure the President’s safety. The Commissionerate Police has set up a three-tier security arrangement, while the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) commandos and other security personnel will provide an additional protective layer.

Barricading will be installed on both sides of the route from Airport to Raj Bhavan and from Raj Bhavan to Legislative Assembly.

Officials from the Airport Authority, CISF, Central Intelligence Bureau, Odisha Police, and Fire Services attended the preparatory meeting. Senior officers from Khordha district administration, Electricity Department, PWD, and Traffic Wing were also present.

The Airport Director, Traffic DCP, and CISF DIG led the discussions on ensuring a seamless and secure presidential visit.

Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Raj Bhavan, and Odisha Legislative Assembly will remain on high alert on November 27 and 28. Overall security will be overseen by five DCP-rank officers, supported by five ACPs, 20 Inspectors, and 30 additional officers.
