Bhubaneswar: Ravi Shankar Patnaik on Friday received the prestigious ‘Jayadev Puraskar’, during the 29th State Film Awards, for his life time contribution to Odia film industry in editing. This is for the first time that the jury members decided to honour people who always work behind the scenes.

Odia movie ‘Hello Arsi’ received the best film award with Sambit Mohanty and Parthasarathi Ray receiving the best director and the best actor award for the same movie. Sunmeera Nagesh received the award in best actress category for the film ‘Laila O Laila’.

Satyajit Pradhan and Asima Panda received the best playback singer award for male and female categories respectively.

Besides, Tarang Cine Productions’ ‘Tu Mo love Story’ won awards in three categories. Debidatta Mohanty, Arun Mantri and Subash Behera received the best screenplay, best lyricist and best art director award respectively.

“I am feeling very proud. I thank the State government and the judges for recognising my efforts,” said Ravi Shankar Patnaik while accepting the award.

“I have always said that in Odisha, original screenplay movies should be made. I am living this moment, feeling happy and proud. I am thankful to the jury members for appreciating my performance,” said actor Parthasarathi Ray.

Sunmeera Nagesh, who received the best actress award, said: “I had given my best in the movie. I thank the jury members and people of Odisha for this award.”

Meanwhile, the 6th Odisha State Tele Awards will be held today.
