Odisha Eying To Establish 1000 Start-Ups
Bhubaneswar: The Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) department is targeting to establish around 1000 start-ups in Odisha for which start-up development cells will be set up in different districts to encourage entrepreneurship.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Dibya Shankar Mishra chaired a Start-up Showcase programme held in Bhubaneswar today and discussed several issues with the entrepreneurs and other officials. He also instructed the MSME department secretary to take steps to resolve problems of land and finance faced by the entrepreneurs.
Around 438 start-ups have registered across the state till date. MSME will establish start-up development cells in 15 districts and entrepreneurs will get support for business planning and development, informed sources.
“It has been decided to establish cells in 15 districts. We will help and encourage the existing start-ups and entrepreneurs in these districts through these cells and also encourage budding entrepreneurs with innovative ideas,” informed MSME department secretary, LN Gupta.
