Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Tuesday expressed concern over corruption among government officials in the state-level recruitment fair organised in Bhubaneswar for 1,543 newly selected candidates from 11 government departments.
As per reports, the event was held at the Rail auditorium, where Chief Minister Majhi distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed candidates.
Of the total recruits, 755 were selected in the School and Mass Education Department, 392 in the Agriculture Department, 116 in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, 121 in the Finance Department, 106 in the Labour Department, 15 in the Cooperation Department, 18 in the Tourism Department, six in the Home Department, five in the Supply Department, eight in the Planning and Convergence Department, and one candidate from the Skill Development and Technical Education Department received appointment letters.

Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, among other dignitaries, were present at the program.
Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi cautioned the newly appointed officers and employees to strictly avoid corrupt practices and warned them of serious consequences in cases related to corruption.
"I got the news that Rs 75 lakh was found in the bed of a Tehsildar. A total of 1,543 persons got appointments today. I pray before Lord Jagannath that this kind of news should not appear on TV," said Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.
