Naveen congratulates Odisha Police for maintaining law and order

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday congratulated officers of Odisha Police in maintaining law and order and countering left wing extremism effectively in 2018. Patnaik also launched the ‘Arakshi’ mobile application during the valedictory session of the 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference today.

“The application will help the officers to conduct paperless investigation. The officers who visit for spot investigation will now be able to write case diaries, send spot maps and seizure lists through the app which will also save time,” informed Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty.

While addressing the valedictory session of the 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference, the CM today urged officers to provide exemplary leadership to the police force of the State and to be accessible to the people and responsive to their problems and strive to live up to their expectations.

Praising the efforts of Commissionerate Police for the smooth conduct of Men’s Hockey World Cup last year, Patnaik said the efforts won global appreciation.

Stating that police personnel work under extreme hardship while discharging their duties, Patnaik said “My government is continuously striving to provide a better working environment to our police force and their welfare.”
