For Saturday, a yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Koraput, Kalahandi, and Rayagada. In other districts, strong winds accompanied by lightning may occur, with speeds reaching 30 to 40 kmph in certain areas. The ongoing rainfall is attributed to the retreating monsoon and the influence of the returning south-west monsoon winds.

Recent rainfall in the state has measured between 7 to 11 mm in some regions, reportedly. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the monsoon is likely to retreat from Odisha within the next three to four days, after which clear weather is expected.

Impact Across North And South Odisha

Both northern and southern parts of the state have experienced continuous rainfall over the past few days. The ongoing rain and thunderstorms are expected to gradually subside.

Regions experiencing high humidity will also see clear weather once the monsoon departs. Areas that previously received less rainfall are likely to have benefited from multiple low-pressure systems, helping farmers, although no official statement has been made regarding crop recovery.
