Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi: Yash Mishra from Odisha received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from President Ram Nath Kovind at a special function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today. As many as 22 children including 10 girls and 12 boys received the awards on the occasion.

A resident of Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar, Yash has been conferred the Bal Shakti Puraskar for excellence in the field of scholastic achievement.

The Odisha boy was felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 1, 00,000, a tablet, medal, certificate and a citation during the occasion.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is being given under two main categories – Bal Shakti Puraskar and Bal Kalyan Puraskar.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is given away to children with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievements in the fields of innovation, scholastic achievements, social service, arts and culture and sports.

Similarly, the Bal Kalyan Puraskar is given to individuals and institutions for their commendable contribution and service in the field of child welfare.

Reports said, Yash will also participate in the full dress rehearsal and Republic Day parade in New Delhi to be held on January 23 and 26 respectively.
