Odisha-Bound Trains & Via Odisha Express Trains Cancelled Due To Anti-CAA Protests

Bhubaneswar: In view of the ongoing agitation at different railway stations in Howrah-Kharagpur Railway Section on Monday against the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, as many as 17 Odisha-bound trains and others travelling via Odisha have been cancelled or partially cancelled.

2. 12841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandal Express from Howrah
3. 12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur Express from Howrah
4. 12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail from Howrah
5. 12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express from Howrah

Sources in railway informed that the cancellation of these trains is the effect of the disturbance of train operations on December 13 and 14 and the situation is under observation. However, the train movement to Howrah is normal.

Railway officials also stated as train links are involved, cascading effect of disruption in train operations has led to the cancellation and partial cancellation of these trains.
