Odisha blacklists company providing poor quality IV drip

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Medical Corporation Ltd (OSMCL) has blacklisted a Gujarat-based healthcare company for supplying poor quality IV drip under the Niramaya Yojana.

The company -Aculife Healthcare was awarded with a tender to supply the saline under the Yojana in 2016-17.

In a letter to the company, the corporation mentioned that the saline provided by the company is not of standard quality and failed two out of the three tests conducted by laboratories empanelled by the OSMCL.

Though the expiry date mentioned on the saline is 2020, it is of poor quality, stated the letter adding that the Aculife Healthcare could no more participate in tender process for the supply of these products.

The company has also been issued a show-cause notice asking it to submit a reply in connection with the allegations. As per reports, the supply of saline to hospitals in the State has been stopped.
