Bhubaneswar: Odisha assembly was on Friday adjourned sine die after a stormy monsoon session as the Opposition Congress walked out of the House accusing the Speaker of acting in a partisan manner.

The session which started on August 28 amid uproar by opposition Congress over remarks against Lok Sabha MP and former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal by some BJD members, ended in a similar fashion.

The last day of the session saw repeated adjournments due to noisy protest over Thursday's Congress rally.

"Six major bills were passed in the short session," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said in his valedictory speech. There were many valuable discussions during the session, he said.

Leader of BJP Legislature Party K V Singhdeo and the lone member of the CPI Adikanda Sethi also participated in the valedictory event.
