Gajapati: At least three persons were injured following a clash over ongoing border dispute between residents of Champapur of Odisha and Singipur of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

According to sources, some people belonging to Singipur attacked the residents of Champapur Three women sustained injuries in the attack. The locals of Champapur have lodged a complaint at Garabandha police station in connection with the attack.

On the other hand, the villagers of Singipur have also filed a counter complaint at Manjusa police station in Andhra Pradesh.
The residents of Andhra village reportedly put up red flag on the bordering area forcibly, triggering panic among the residents.

Following the incident, inspector-in-charge of Garabandha police station along with Kainpur revenue inspector visited the area. The officials measured the area and confirmed that the land belongs to Odisha.

However, the residents of both the villages demanded that the officials of both Odisha and Andhra jointly carry out measurement and demarcation of the land.

"The residents of Singipur alleged that we have encroached upon their land and destroyed mango, cashew and banana trees planted by us. When our people protested, a clash broke out between the two villagers," said a resident of Champapur.

The residents of Singipur could not be contacted on the incident.
