Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik today brought the Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment department under its Mo Sarkar initiative which focuses on 5T governance model.

"Farmers are the main focus and the department belongs to them. Mo Sarkar is a transformational initiate under the 5T programme and it aims to bring professionalism and behavioural changes through the direct random feedback system," said Naveen.

"Under Mo Sarkar, I will be personally calling the farmers to get direct feedback from them," the CM added.

As part of the initiative, the issues of the farmers will be taken up and later the 5T officials will be collecting feedback regarding the services provided by the department, said Principal Secretary of Agriculture department, Saurav Garg.

"We have taken up 20 tasks in hand, the work for which began today. We will try to double the income of the farmers and focus on the implementation of the universal farm pond scheme. Like other departments that come under Mo Sarkar, the Agriculture department too will ensure it works for the people and the officials are people-friendly in their behaviour," said Garg.

Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo said, "As part of the 5T initiative, the CM and other senior officials will directly take the feedback from the farmers. This will increase work efficiency and inculcate positive attitude among the officials of the department which is the primary aim of Mo Sarkar."
