Odias in Pune turn saviours for Kendrapara youth injured in road mishap
Kendrapara/Pune: A few Odias staying in Maharashtra turned saviour for a youth of Kendrapara district who is now battling for life at a hospital following a road mishap in Pune.
After admitting the youth in hospital, the non-resident Odia community collected Rs 4 lakh required for the treatment.
According to reports, one Prafulla Rout of Ikiriya village under Rajnagar in Kendrapara district had gone to Pune in search of work. But after Prafulla reportedly met with an accident there, some local Odias came forward and arranged funds for his treatment.
Prafulla is admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Pune and his condition is said to be critical.
However, as a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh is still pending at the hospital to get necessary clearance, the family of Prafulla have now appealed the State Government to airlift him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Besides, the local Odias staying in Pune have contacted some NGOs for arranging financial assistance for Prafulla’s treatment, sources said.
