Bhubaneswar: Renowned Odia writer Dr Pradeep Dash received the prestigious 40th ‘Sarala Puraskar' at a special function in Bhubaneswar today.

Dash received the Sarala Puraskar for his poetry work ‘Charu Chibar O Charjya.’ Dash received the award, which carries a citation and cash reward of Rs 5lakh, from the chief guest of the evening, Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal.

Apart from Dash, eminent musician & Tabla maestro Pandit Hara Mohan Khuntia was conferred Ila Panda Sangeet Samman while Artist Lalat Mohan Pattnaik was honoured with ‘Ila Panda Chitrakala Samman’ for his contribution in the field of art. Both of them were felicitated with a cash award of Rs. 1.50 lakh and citations.

Instituted in 1979 by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd, Sarala Puraskar is recognised as the foremost literary award of the State.
