Odia student shot dead in US

Bhubaneswar: A 24-year old Odia student studying at Boston University, USA succumbed to head and leg injuries on Thursday night after he was shot at by an unidentified person. The deceased, K Seshadri Rao, a resident of Jeypore town in Koraput district was pursuing MBA in Treasury and Investment. The  Indian Embassy in US and the Dean of the university have intimated Seshadri`s father Sudhakar Rao about the incident through e-mail.

According sources, Boston Police had recovered a bullet-hit body near an apartment in Allston which is one and half km away from the university campus and suspected the body to be of a university student.

Seshadri who had taken admission in the university last August, was scheduled to complete his course next month. According to Sudhakar, his son had also received an internship offer from a company there. Sudhakar alleged that though his son had no enmity with anybody, the act could be out of jealousy. However the motif of murder is not yet clear.

After completing Class IX and X in Jeypore, Seshadri had pursued BTech from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka.
