Bolangir: Odia woman cricketer Madhuri Mehta has finally secured her place in the 15-member Indian Women Cricket team. The Bolangir girl created history as she became the first cricketer from the state to represent the nation. Madhuri would soon join Team India to tour West Indies.

Captain of the Bolangir district women cricket team, Madhuri was chosen to represent the state only last year. Later she was picked up in the East Zone squad. A product of the National Cricket Academy, Madhuri scored 36 runs and 40 runs respectively against Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka in the All India T20 Championship. She is a specialist bats woman in the middle-order.
