Cuttack: The death of Odia actress Laxmipriya alias Nikita continues to remain unresolved and in the meantime, police have granted more time to the actress' in-laws to appear following murder allegations levelled by the family members of the deceased.

Nikita's in -laws, who had sought 15 days' time, have been granted 7 days to appear at Chauliaganj Police Station failing which action will be taken against them, informed sources.

On January 12, the Commissionerate Police had put up a notice (Latka in common parlance) at the house of Nikita’s in-laws after they failed to appear at the police station despite repeated summons.

Nikita's father, Sanatan Behera had alleged that the actress' husband had killed her. Later, Nikita's husband Lipan Sahu was arrested after interrogation at Chauliaganj Police Station. The actress had died at a private hospital on January 5 while undergoing treatment. Post mortem report had revealed that the death had occurred on account of a fall from height.
