Cuttack: Amid the on-going probe into the death of Odia television actress Nikita, the Commissionerate Police today received the post mortem report. The report revealed that Nikita died after falling from a height and receiving grievous injuries on her head and chest, informed sources.

Meanwhile, Nikita’s in-laws have been absconding after the incident and notices have been served by the police.

“There is nothing new mentioned in the post mortem report as it was clear that she died after falling from height. The in-laws of Nikita have been sent notices to appear before the police as they are absconding,” Cuttack DCP, Akhileswar Singh said. Singh further added, “If required they will be interrogated and necessary legal action will be taken against them if found guilty.”

On the other hand, Nikita’s in-laws have applied for an anticipatory bail at the Orissa High Court.

Earlier on Tuesday, husband of the actress, Lipan Sahu was sent to judicial custody after his bail plea was rejected by Cuttack SDJM court. Police had earlier revealed that Nikita’s husband, Sahu was responsible for her death as there was a scuffle between the couple on the terrace of Nikita’s house prior to the incident. Sahu was arrested by the Chauliaganj Police on Monday after Nikita's father Sanatan Behera alleged that his son-in-law had murdered his daughter.

The actress had died at a private hospital on January 5 while undergoing treatment.
