Odia actress death: Father of Nikita alleges murder; hubby arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested Lipan Sahu, husband of deceased actress Laxmipriya Behera alias Nikita after her father levelled murder allegation against the former.

Sahu was arrested after an interrogation at the Chauliaganj Police Station here.

The actress' father Sanatan Behera had brought serious allegations saying that his son-in-law had killed her.

In a written complaint filed at Chauliaganj police station against son-in-law Lipan, his father Lingaraj Sahu and mother Kuntala Sahu, Behera has alleged that they used to torture his daughter both mentally and physically.

"My daughter was murdered in a planned manner by her husband. On the day of the incident, my daughter and son-in-law had an argument in our house and later they went to the terrace of our house to resolve the matter. After sometime we heard our daughter's screams and rushed to find her lying on the floor. Asked, son-in-law said that she had fell down from the roof," Nikita's father said.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case under Section 302, 498 (A), 306 and 34 of IPC and further probe is on.
