With the election campaign period nearing its conclusion, political activity in Nuapada is set to intensify from today, as parties ramp up efforts to woo voters across the block. All major political outfits have mobilized their leaders and workers to ensure maximum visibility and outreach in key constituencies.
For the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will spearhead the campaign, promising a high-voltage contest. Top leaders from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress have also geared up, deploying their senior leadership and resources to engage with voters.
As part of the campaign schedule, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai will attend a massive public gathering at Panchampur, under Kutbanbera Panchayat in Nuapada block, where he is expected to deliver a key address to the electorate. CM Mohan Charan Majhi will also campaign for BJP candidate Jay Dholakia.

CM Majhi is slated to arrive in Gotama at around 1:50 PM via private aircraft, followed by a helicopter ride to Udyanbandh. There, he will pay tributes at Ambedkar’s statue and lead a padyatra (foot march) to engage with local voters. Later, he will proceed to Komna, join roadshows, and address a large public gathering at Bank Chowk.
“On behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, two senior leaders, CMs of two states, will arrive in our constituency to appeal our voters in Nuapada. Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai will address a rally at 11 am today. Likewise, CM Mohan Majhi will lead a roadshow at around 2:30 pm,” Biranchi Tripathy, State BJP vice-president, has said earlier today.
On the other hand, BJD’s Tukuni Sahu claimed, “No matter which CM comes, there will be no impact on us because the Nuapada bypoll is a medium to rectify the mistake that happened in 2024. If people have made up their minds to vote for us, they will definitely vote in favour of Naveen and bring back the good governance under him.”
Given the high-profile visits and the expected massive turnout, security arrangements have been tightened across the region. Observers predict that today’s campaign events could set the tone for the final days of the Nuapada election battle, with parties leaving no stone unturned to win voters’ confidence.
