Nuapada by-election: CM Mohan Majhi’s aircraft undergoes inspection amid bypoll vigil

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi’s aircraft and helicopter went through a detailed inspection during his visit to Nuapada district on Thursday ahead of the bypoll, officials confirmed.

The Nuapada district administration stated that the inspections were conducted in view of the upcoming Nuapada by-election. Teams from the flying squad and the video surveillance unit carried out the checks to ensure compliance with election regulations.

The inspections of CM Majhi’s aircraft form part of routine pre-election monitoring, aimed at overseeing the movement of political leaders during campaigning, reportedly. Sources said the exercise ensures transparency and adherence to rules regarding transportation used by political figures.

On the same day, the aircraft of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai, who had come to Nuapada for election campaigning, was also inspected by the authorities. Earlier, similar inspections had been carried out for Odisha opposition leader and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, as well as BJP national vice-president and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, as sources said.

The inspections, conducted by dedicated teams, are reportedly aimed at maintaining transparency and adherence to election norms, ensuring a fair and monitored campaign environment. The district administration has reiterated its commitment to overseeing election-related activities and ensuring proper scrutiny of transportation used by political figures during the by-election period.

These measures are consistent with the Election Commission’s guidelines on monitoring the movement of candidates and political leaders during election campaigns. The inspections in Nuapada have drawn attention as part of wider efforts to maintain transparency and compliance with election laws.
