Non-resident Odias celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in Bahrain

Bhubaneswar/Bahrain: At a time when the whole nation is dipped in religious festivities, non-resident Odias living in the island nation were also not far behind in celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with pomp and gaiety.

The Puja was organised at the residence of the founder of Bahrain Odia Samaj, Arun Kumar Praharaj. The event began with a ‘Sthapana Puja’ in the morning which was followed by cultural programme in the evening.

The program was also attended by the Deputy Ambassador of India to Bahrain, Anand Prakash. “I am really delighted to be a part of the Ganpati celebrations organised by the Bahrain Odia Samaj here,” said Prakash.

“We have been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in Bahrain Island since last seven years. We enjoyed a lot together and it feels like Ganpati Bappa is with us,” expressed Arun Praharaj.

Another Odia settled in Bahrain, Nrusingha Charan Nayak said, “I feel so good celebrating Ganesh Puja here. It’s been quite a long time that we have been doing the Puja. With the assistance of all the Odias here, the Puja was conducted smoothly which is the sign of our unity and brotherhood.”
