Public prosecutors can’t fight contempt cases for Govt staff: HC
Cuttack: Pronouncing an important verdict, the Odrissa High Court today barred public prosecutors from fighting cases related to contempt of court in favour of the Government officials.
The court also directed the government not to bear the legal expenses for such matter.
One Dhabal Prasad of Gopalpur area in Cuttack district filed a contempt of court petition in the High Court against Cuttack sub-register after the former refused him to register a land patta.
However, the court has not awarded any punishment to sub-register Ramesh Chandra Panda after he apologised before the court that he would not commit such mistake in future.
