Bhubaneswar: Amid brewing public dissatisfaction over police crackdown and collection of hefty fines from motorists violating revised traffic rules enforced under the new Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act from September 1, the State government today urged people to get their necessary documents ready without fearing the tightened norms.

"People don’t need to panic over the new Motor Vehicle Act and those who don’t have necessary documents required for compliance under the new norms should earnestly make effort to get all the papers ready," said Transport Secretary G Srinivas.

The Transport Secretary informed that all Regional Transport Officers have been asked to ensure that public don’t have to face hassles while registering for their documents especially for Driving License.

“We are coordinating with all the RTOs of the Twin Cities and other areas to make arrangements so that people can easily get their License and other papers. Some new centres to help people for their documents have also been opened to streamline the process. We are monitoring the entire situation,” said Srinivas.
