Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena has announced strict regulations for fireworks during Diwali this year. The deadline for bursting fireworks has been set as 9 pm, an hour earlier than the previous years. Fireworks producing loud noise, except for green crackers, will not be permitted.
As per reports, authorities have also warned that any person driving under the influence of alcohol during the festival will face vehicle seizure and arrest. The directive aims to prevent accidents and ensure public safety during the celebrations.
Patrol Teams Deployed Across the City
Patrol teams will be stationed across all police station jurisdictions in accordance with DCP Meena’s instructions. The Commissionerate Police has issued an awareness message to residents, emphasising compliance with the regulations to maintain a safe and orderly Diwali, as sources added.
Focus on Public Safety
The measures reflect the police department’s efforts to balance festive celebrations with public safety, ensuring that residents can enjoy Diwali while adhering to legal guidelines regarding noise and road safety.
