Bhubaneswar: Being visually impaired could not deter her from cracking the Odisha Civil Services exam in the very first attempt. While narrating her struggle to realise her dream, Tapaswini Das, who has secured 161st rank in the recently released Odisha Civil Services 2018 Examination results, said dedication is key.

Speaking to OTV, Das said that she is happy with her 161st rank as maintaining a balance while preparing for the OPSC and PG exams simultaneously was quite difficult for her.

On her study plans for the OAS exam, she said that as her optional subjects were Political Science and History, both of which were covered in her course curriculum, she didn’t have to make separate study plan for the civil services exam.

On her plans and desire to work in a particular field, Das said that she would give her best to whichever area she is assigned to as Odisha is lagging behind in comparison to other states.

She advised students that all hurdles and problems that come in the way of preparation can be overcome with ease if there is strong dedication. “There are no shortcuts to OAS success; it’s a long and arduous journey. One needs to stay positive no matter what," she said.
