Bhubaneswar: Niti Aayog vice chairman Rajeev Kumar today praised the Odisha government for achieving growth at a rate higher than the national average.

On the inaugural day of the three-day Odisha Vikash Conclave 2018, Kumar said Odisha has managed to sustain growth rate more than the national average of 6.7 percent which is indeed very good.

If we want to make development a mass revolution, we need participation of all stakeholders and create a platform for exchange of ideas and feedback, Kumar said.

Kumar laid emphasis on sectors like nutrition, health and education. "At present the most important challenge is to eliminate malnutrition. It is good to know that some districts in Odisha are below the national average. As far education is concerned, we have planned to set up a school ranking index to rank school education systems in all the states," said Kumar.

We are also looking to categorize and rank all the 736 district headquarters hospital which I hope will spur competition among all the states for better healthcare, he said.
