Bhubaneswar: Amid rising dissidence in the Odisha unit of Congress marked by the recent exits of senior leaders and MLAs, ruling-BJD leader and minister Badri Patra today targeted Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president, Niranjan Patnaik accusing him of ruining the Congress.

Speaking to reporters, Patra said that the PCC president harbours anger towards the party, since he was removed from his post a few years ago and he will ruin the party to take revenge.

“Looking at the current situation, one can easily ascertain whether Niranjan Patnaik has made the party better or worse after taking over the reins. Even his own brothers have left him so how can we expect that other leaders of the party will stay with him," Patra said.

In response, Niranjan Patnaik questioned the motive behind Patra’s comments. "Why is he (Patra) getting impatient? I don’t want to waste my time by responding to such comments," he said.
