Balasore:  Time and again we come across incidents that remind us of our existence in a regressive society. One such incident has taken place in Kumbharpatna village under Maitapur Panchayat in Balasore where a newly-wed woman was allegedly burnt to death by her in-laws over dowry.

The victim, Urmila Sial, was admitted to Bhadrak hospital with severe burn injuries where she reportedly breathed her last.

Soon after the incident, Urmila’s family members lodged a complaint with the Simulia Police alleging that her husband along with his family members committed the crime in a planned manner.

As per latest reports, Simulia police has detained Urmila’s husband  Narhari Sial to interrogate him.

Urmila had reportedly tied the knot with Narhari five months back, while her family has claimed they had given dowry as per the demand of the groom’s family members.
