Bhubaneswar: Good news is in store for air passengers ahead of the winter season. The authorities of the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) today informed that as many as 68 operations will be undertaken on a daily basis against the current 42 operations under its New Winter Schedule Plan.

As per information, two new flight services would be introduced from the winter session which will ensure Bhubaneswar's direct connectivity with two new destinations- Ahmedabad and Coimbatore.

Currently, 42 flight operations are being carried out daily at the Bhubaneswar Airport. While direct flight service to Ahmedabad will start from September 1, the total number of flight operations is also likely to be increased to 62, informed BPIA Director Suresh Chandra Hota.

The Bhubaneswar-Ahmedabad direct flight has been scheduled to start from Ahmedabad at 8:55 AM and reach BPIA at 11: 20 AM. The return flight will depart Bhubaneswar at 11:50 AM and reach Ahmedabad at 2:10 PM.

On the other hand, flight services from Bhubaneswar to Raipur, Rourkela and Jharsuguda will also begin in the winter session under the Udan regional connectivity scheme of the central government.
