Bhubaneswar: The New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express caught fire near Tilkanagar, a few kilometers before reaching Rourkela railway station today.

It is suspected that a short circuit in B-7 coach of the train led to the fire. It was when excessive smoke emanating from the bogie was noticed that an alarm was raised.

"The smoke started to emanate near the bathroom. After we informed the railway authorities, they came and extinguished the fire. They said that the fire broke out because of a short-circuit," a passenger said.

Some passengers claimed that a situation of panic gripped the passengers after thick smoke was seen inside the bogie and a hoax was spread that bomb blast took place inside the train.

As per latest reports, loss to life or property is yet to be ascertained.
