Neglect by BJD broke my husband, says late Rajendra Dholakia’s wife

Ahead of the crucial bypoll in Nuapada, a major political storm has erupted within the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after Kalpana Dholakia, wife of late BJD leader and former MLA Rajendra Dholakia, levelled serious allegations against the ruling party.

Speaking to the media, Kalpana Dholakia expressed deep anguish over what she termed as the party’s ‘neglect and lack of respect’ towards her husband, who, she said, had devoted over two decades of his life to strengthening the BJD at the grassroots level.

In a serious allegation, she alleged that the conch party did not stand by her husband when he needed them the most, and the ‘neglect and lack of respect’ is one of the main reasons for his untimely demise.

“Rajendra Dholakia worked for the BJD for 24 long years, but the party failed to give him the respect he truly deserved,” she alleged.

“Even during the final days of his life, when he was battling illness, no one from the party came forward to stand by him or inquire about his health. This emotional neglect broke him deeply,” Kalpana said, holding back tears.

She went on to claim that this lack of empathy and acknowledgement from the party leadership contributed to her husband’s emotional distress, which ultimately led to his untimely demise.

Her remarks have sparked discussions in political circles, especially as the BJD gears up for the Nuapada bypoll. While the party has not yet issued an official response, observers believe her emotional statement could influence local sentiment and impact the upcoming electoral contest.
