Cuttack:The member secretary of National Commission for Women Anita Agnihotri today visited the Pipli gang rape victim in intensive care unit of the SCB medical college and hospital here and had detailed discussions with the doctors attending to the victim. She later met the director general of state police in connection with the rape case.

Agnihotri is on a three-day visit to enquire about the Pipli gang rape incident. Agnihotri would visit village Arjungada on Friday where the incident had taken place in November.

The DG Manmohan Praharaj, additional director general of crime branch Abhaya and the investigating officer of the case Jayashree Kundu briefed Agnihotri about the case and the inquiry for over one hour at the police headquarter. Said DG, manmohan Praharaj,"Our officials have provided all the details available with us to the member secretary of the National Commission  for Women."

The victim of the gang rape victim was admitted to the SCB medical in a critical condition in the first week of January aftwer the incident was highlighted in the media. The Chairperson of the National Commission for Women had expressed concern over the gruesome incident. Said Anita Agnihotri,"I would submit the report to the commission within ten days."
