Parlakhemundi: The district and sessions court today deferred the bail applications of Maoist leader Arati Majhi and three others to Wednesday who were produced in the court amid tight security. The four Maoist activists were brought from the Berhampur jail. Arati Majhi was an active member of the Bansdhara division of the CPI(Maoist). She was allegedly involved in several operations by the rebels including the landmine blast incident which took place at Andhari, torching of the forest department beat house at Paniganda, setting fire to a government bus near Raipanka and setting ablaze a mobile tower at Chirikotata.

The Secretary of the State Organising Committee of the CPI(Maoist) Sabyasachi Panda had demanded the release of Arati Majhi to secure the release of Italian national Paolo Bosusco held hostage since march 14.
