Bhubaneswar: After the BPL students, its now turn for the SC/ST students. 15 days after his announcement to give free bicycles to all BPL class-X boys in the state, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday declared to distribute free uniforms to all ST/SC students of class IX and X studying in state ST/SC development department-run schools.

The chief minister has directed the department to take necessary steps to implement the scheme in which as many as 41,995 students are expected to get benefit.

Earlier on July 31, Naveen had announced free bicycles for BPL class-X boys in the state in which 1.6 lakh students would be benefitted.
