Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 26th edition of National Children’s Science Congress in Bhubaneswar in which as many as 800 students from ten Asian and seven Gulf countries are participating.

Official sources said 52 students from Odisha are also participating in the event in 26 project categories. This year's theme is ‘Science, Technology and Innovations: For clean, green and healthy nation’, informed Sujit Banerjee, programme coordinator.

It is for the second time that the National Children’s Science Congress is being organized in Odisha. Earlier, the mega event was held in 2015.

“The National Children’s Science Congress is an endeavour to inculcate the spirit of scientific research among the children. The capital city of Bhubaneswar is fast emerging as a knowledge hub as world class research institutes are located here,” said Patnaik.

Patnaik further said that scientific process is highly essential for a nation’s growth and both environment and health are major concerns of our time.

“Odisha government is focusing on developing scientific temper among students by organizing events and setting up science parks and planetariums at district levels,” Patnaik added.
