Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological park on Tuesday welcomed new guests in the form of eight yellow Anaconda snakes (4 male, 4 female) and three Nile crocodiles which reached here from Madras Crocodile Bank Trust.

The reptiles have been brought as part of animal exchange programme, official sources said. The new addition is likely to play a crucial role in attracting more tourists to the zoo located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

All the eight Anaconda snakes which are approximately 4.5ft long, reached Nandankanan in specially packed boxes under the supervision of an experts’ team.

Zoo authorities informed that the animals will be kept for display after some time. With addition of two new species, the total species of animals in Nandankanan has gone up to 158.
