Narayanpatna: The President of the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS)  Nachika Linga whose name appears in the Most Wanted list of the state police today urged the state government to take steps to implement complete prohibition in Koraput district and return the tribals their lands allegedly grabbed by the non-tribals.

Addressing a huge gathering of tribals including large number of women and children at Narayanpatna Nachika Linga who has been on the run since 2009 demanded that the government should take immediate steps to release tribal members of the CMAS incarcerated in different jails and also should drop false cases against several other innocent tribals. Nachika urged that the government should take measures to completely abolish the system of bonded labour in Koraput district.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, it may be recalled, had on Thursday evening announced that the government would take measures to facilitate the release of 15 members of the Maoist-backed CMAS to secure the safe release of Laxmipur BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka held captive by the ultras of the Andhra-Odisha-Border Special Zonal Committe of the CPI(Maoist) since March 23.
