Mystery shrouds over death of two persons in Ganjam

Ganjam: Mystery prevails over the death of two persons who were mowed down by a speeding truck near Malingi road under Jagannath Prasad Police limits in Ganjam district yesterday.

The family members of one of the deceased, Ram Gauda of Chadiapali village have alleged murder over business rivalry.

As per reports, Ram had some business rivalry with one Tudu Padhi of the same village. The duo reportedly picked up a quarrel yesterday and subsequently crude bombs were lobbed at the house of Ram.

Following the incident, Ram went to the police station to lodge a complaint and on the way, Ram gave lift to one Krushna Nayak on his motorcycle.

Later, both of them were killed after a speeding truck ran over them near Malingi road. Family members alleged that nephew of Tudu was driving the truck and intentionally ran over them.

“My husband was on his way to police station when they killed him. We want protection for the family,” said Kuni, wife of Ram.
Bhanjanagar SDPO, Subhranshu Mishra, said, “Basing on the complaint, we have registered a case and further investigation in this connection is on.”
