Bhadrak: A minor girl who was found in a critical condition under Kochila River bridge near Arjunpur under Dhusuri Police limits died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack today. The reason behind the injuries sustained by the girl and circumstances which led her to the place meanwhile is still shrouded in mystery.

The minor girl, a class 9 student, and resident of Mangalpur area in Jajpur district was rescued by two unidentified youths of Dhamnagar area from Kochila River bridge two days ago. However, the two youths reportedly fled the spot after admitting the girl to Dhamnagar Community Health Centre.

As the health condition of the 15-year-old girl was critical, the CHC authorities shifted her to Bhadrak District Headquarter Hospital from where she was referred to Cuttack SCB.

On the other hand, the family members of the girl alleged that she was kidnapped by two youths of Habib Nagar in Dhamnagar area who threw her in the riverbed in order to kill her.

Even though police have started an investigation into the incident, officials are yet to comment on the matter.
