My Son Faints At The Sight Of Blood: Suspect Killer's Mother

Bhubaneswar: 'My son is innocent. He faints even at the sight of blood. He has been falsely implicated. For God sake, release him.' This is what a mother said in tears while pleading justice for her son.

In a significant development today, Commissionerate Police arrested Narayan Sahu, the suspected serial killer behind the brutal murders in Cuttack after he was found guilty in two out of the three cases. He has been court forwarded.

Briefing mediapersons, Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh said the suspect has accepted that he committed the two murders in OMP area of the city, however, he did not clarify about his involvement in the third murder at Ranihat bridge.

“The third case at Mangalabag Ranihat area is yet to be established. So we will bring the accused in remand and continue further investigation with DNA, polygraph and other tests to ascertain whether he is involved in the case,” said Singh.

Prior to his arrest today, a police team took Sahu to OMP chhak where he demonstrated how he executed the crime while officials of forensic department seized an axe, believed to be the weapon used by him in the murder. This apart, some other clothes of the accused have also been seized.

The DCP said that even though the true reason behind the murders is yet to be established, the accused has claimed that he had grudge against the victims and held them responsible for ousting him from the area he lived.

Further, the medical examination of the accused is being carried out to see whether he has some mental afflictions. Since the post mortem reports of the deceased have already been submitted, the police have prepared some queries to expedite further interrogation into the cases, said the DCP.

Following Narayan's arrest today, his mother Satyabhama Sahu demanded justice and appealed before the police to release him.

His wife Gitanjali had also met Nayagarh SP demanding justice. Refuting the allegations leveled against her husband, Gitanjali along with several villagers of Odagaon Sunamuhi accused the police of falsely implicating charges against Narayan.
